Congratulations to the St. Andrew's Anglers, pictured above. On July 24th, they won the Baton Rouge Methodist Co-ed Softball League Championship. Due to a solid season record, St. Andrews earned a bye in the opening round of the tournament.
Round two found the Anglers with a low scoring solid defeat of New Song UMC.
Next St. Andrews faced Broadmoor UMC in the semi-finals. This game was a nail biter all the way through, as the lead changed several times over the course of the game. St. Andrews found themselves two runs down in the bottom of the last inning. With two outs the Anglers summoned a rally to score three runs and beat Broadmoor 10 - 9.
St. Andrews met First Methodist in the Championship game and jumped out to an early lead by scoring four runs in the first inning. The Anglers never gave up the lead and glided easily to a 9-4 win to clinch the title.
